Digital Darkroom and Photography (Spring Session, Tuesdays 3:30-4:30) (Ages 11+)
Photography is a universal language that perfectly marries the practice of art with technology. This class will allow your student to explore their artistic identity through the lens of the digital camera! They will start with the basics, play with exciting technologies, explore different photographic genres, and build their own photographic portfolio over this eight-class session.
Students will not only learn how to properly use a digital camera on totally manual settings, but they will learn the skills it takes to digitally edit their work and professionally print their images with hands-on experience.
With everything from self-portraits with indoor studio lighting, to urban landscape, students will build a photographic portfolio while learning the skills to manipulate light and image through manual camera settings. This class will end with a special gallery exhibition at the Westport Arts Centering featuring your student's photographs, as well as publishing their work.
Aperture, ISO, f-stop, and depth of field. Students will master these skills together.
Repeat students WELCOME and ENCOURAGED! Great photography comes with practice, and we love helping repeat students continue to build a mind-blowing portfolio!
