Spring Break 2020: Nature Art
Stretch your legs and your creative spirit as we explore art inspired by nature. Students will take advantage of the warm weather and new growth as they gather materials from outside to stunning create works of art. Students will also receive a crash course on ‘nature artists’ such as Andy Goldsworthy and Agnes Denes. Bring raincoats and boots as necessary! Brown bag lunch and a snack as well.
Monday, April 6: Animal Homes
Construct and paint birdhouses
Tuesday, April 7: Make Some Noise!
Create windchimes with materials from nature
Wednesday, April 8: Intro to Encaustic Art
Freeze objects in time using beeswax (crayons for younger students) and resin
Thursday, April 9: Terrariums
Students will have the opportunity to create their own terrariums with flower pots, painted rocks and clay flowers.
Friday, April 10: Catch the Light
Play with light and color by creating your own suncatchers and faux stained glass
